We wrapped up the first workshop series of The Future last month at The HiVE. We had so much fun, working, and learning with our group of eight young, diverse women. They’re all doing kind of amazing things in their creative work, from performances to podcasts.
They are:
Tanvi Bhatia
Sunny Chen
Joyce Chiu
Cynthia Chou
Janice Liu
Jessica Mayhew
Diana Wong
Shavonne Yu
Once again, we’d like to thank our awesome partners: The HiVE for providing a venue to us for five sessions, Vancity for their funding support, and our 11 speakers for doing it all — sharing their stories and teaching and inspiring us.
We really want to continue our work, facilitating a safe space for young, diverse creative women to build leadership skills in the creative sector. Throughout the process of planning the first cohort and discussions with our community (that’s you), we’ve learned so much. Now, we’re in the evaluation stage, and we’re taking steps to grow our program in 2017.
In the meantime, you can find us (our pins to be exact), at TOQUE, Western Front’s Annual Fundraiser and Craft Fair this weekend, Dec 2-4, 2016. Our pin designer, Jane Koo (Studio Coup), will be selling our Crystal Ball enamel pins with proceeds going toward the Western Front. If you can’t make it to TOQUE, you can purchase a pin on this site, which will directly support our next round of workshops.
xoxo
